  7. Competitiveness
  8. Fairness
  9. Courtesy
  10. Self-Control

PLAYER REGISTRATION AND ELIGIBILITY

            The Saint Mary Magdalen Athletic Program has three sports seasons; fall, winter and spring season. Registration for each season is handled via the online registration process on this website www.smmbulldogs.com.  St. Mary Magdalen is a member of the Wilmington Diocesan Catholic Youth Ministry’s Athletic Program and eligibility is based upon CYM regulations as well as St. Mary Magdalen’s Athletic Association by-laws.

A player is eligible to participate in the SMMAA program in the following manner and order:

  • Active Parishioners of SMM and/or current enrolled student of SMM school in good standing

If it is determined by the SMMAA registration coordinator, sports coordinator and the Saint Mary Magdalen Athletic Association Executive Board that additional space is available to complete rosters, the following athletes will be allowed to participate in Saint Mary Magdalen Sports programs, but not the first team.  After they have completed the CYM affiliation process and have been approved by the CYM Athletic Coordinator and SMMAA to participate for SMM they are eligible to attend tryouts/practice:

a.)  Active Parishioners of another CYM Diocesan Parish/Catholic School that do not have an Athletic program;

b.) Players who are referred to Saint Mary Magdalen Athletic Association from CYM because the players do not have a particular sport offered at their Parish/School in which they are an active member.

 c.) Non-Parishioners that live within Saint Mary Magdalen parish boundary.

d.) Non-Parishioners that live outside the Saint Mary Magdalen boundaries.

Please note: anyone who meets the SMM “non parishioner” status above and elects to register for participation in SMMAA sports will be placed on a “waitlist”.  The SMMAA Registration Committee will follow up with an email to confirm whether or not SMMAA can accommodate “waitlist” requests.
